“Promise yourself to be strong that nothing can disturb your piece of mind. Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best.”
Positive Mindset=Positive Output. You are what you think. Train yourself to see the good even in the worst of situations. I had a tough day today, but instead of focusing on how hard and bad it was, I challenged myself to look for the good in the situation I was faced with. Sure enough, there were some positive things that could have easily escaped me had I chosen to to focus only on the toughness of the situation.
I could have chosen to stay in a place of helplessness, anger and frustration but I chose not to. I did allow myself to feel; to feel the emotions that come with sadness but made the decision to move on and not stay there. This is not something I’m always able to do. Sometimes when faced with difficult situations I want to stay in pity party mode “just because.” The flip side of that is then what? Then what? This is where the concept of choosing joy that I have adopted comes to play. I have a choice, we all have a choice to choose how we handle situations and move on from them. I choose the latter because after all, life is simply too short to stay unhappy for long periods of time.
We’re not always going to have a trouble free life, but how we choose to react to the difficult situations life throws at us is a choice that’s entirely up to us. What will you choose when life gives you lemons?
Philipians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
