Experiences over Things

Eleven years ago, we lived here, in Philadelphia. It feels like it was a lifetime ago. My oldest son Kupstar was born here, where his Aunt and Uncle nicknamed him McNabb, after the football player Donovan McNabb who was quite the sensation during his years with the Philadelphia Eagles. Uncle Nigel and Aunt Lisa came to see him at the hospital, and when he saw this baby boy with the broadest shoulders ever, an almost 9lb baby, Uncle Nigel naturally christened him, “McNabb.” This would explain his love for his beloved Eagles because he proudly professes that he is a Philly Born Baby. Our Kupstar has asked us through the years, to take him to this city where he was born, so he can see it for himself.

The gleeful look on his face the whole time we’ve been here has been immeasurable, I totally live for moments like this, for precious memories that the kids will hold for the rest of their lives. That is, after all why we work hard right? To bring smiles to these little ones’ faces. I hope we all learn the value of buying our kids experiences versus things.

Until next time, thank you for stopping by.
